      <image:title>Sarah Hale</image:title>
<image:caption>Sarah is responsible for strategically leading the organization to fulfill its vision and mission. Her primary duties involve portfolio development, fund development, and program execution and expansion. Educated at Emma Willard School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Sarah holds a particular passion for those in poverty, especially children. Through her years of work as an interior designer, she learned deeply the power of home on a person, and its ability to shape relationships and daily life. The most rewarding thing about her work is the knowledge that what she does all day, every day, is very tangibly helping to improve the lives of Urban Hope’s clients, as well as the future of the neighborhood, and by extension, our city. Urban Hope envisions a thriving community where everyone can find a home; when we are securing affordable housing that will stay affordable, we are working toward that vision. Her volunteer work through the years has focused on the disabled, the elderly, and the illiterate. She is a founder and leader of the Saints Bible Study, a board member for Needle’s Eye Ministries and VCU Health Hub’s Community Advisory Board, and she is a Governing Elder at Third Church. She loves dogs, gardens, books, and coffee…and of course her beloved family!</image:caption>

      <image:title>Carolyn Loftin</image:title>
<image:caption>Carolyn Loftin is deeply committed to advancing equitable access to housing and financial stability. Her work centers on serving as a community liaison for individuals seeking better opportunities in life, creating practical pathways toward economic independence, and cultivating partnerships that strengthen the broader community. One of Carolyn’s greatest passions is coaching individuals to make financial decisions that are both realistic and transformative. She believes that sound financial management is a cornerstone for breaking cycles of poverty—but that true impact happens only when the information shared is relevant and accessible to each person’s real-life circumstances. Throughout her career, Carolyn has remained devoted to helping others reach their fullest potential—stabilizing finances, building confidence, and fostering a culture of mutual service and growth. She believes in the richness that comes from communities learning with and from one another. Carolyn currently serves as President of the Virginia Association of Housing Counselors (VAHC), a statewide organization dedicated to training and developing housing professionals. She is also a Virginia Housing Alliance (VHA) BLI Cohort alumna and serves on the Board of Directors for Partnership for Housing Affordability (PHA), a nonprofit that leads regional efforts to advance affordable housing policy and development across Central Virginia. Outside of Urban Hope, Carolyn is an avid traveler who loves exploring new places solo or with her family and friends. A proud mother of five, she often brings along her beloved pup, Pierre, for the adventure.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Ginger Dillard is the Deputy Director at Urban Hope, where she brings a heart for service and a wealth of expertise in nonprofit management to her role. With over 25 years of experience in transforming service delivery for older adults and adults with disabilities, Ginger is known for her dedication to advancing community well-being through strategic planning and innovative program development. Growing up, Ginger witnessed the importance of a safe, stable home firsthand and purchased her first home through the low-income home buyers program at 24 years old. Working with older adults in poor housing conditions inspired her passion for improving housing and support services for others. For more than 20 years, she has volunteered with a local housing foundation, working tirelessly to enhance services for older adults in her community. This lifelong commitment to service is the foundation of her work at Urban Hope, where she leads financial strategy, program implementation, and operational excellence to ensure the organization achieves its mission. She’s also a proud aunt to an amazing group of kids and finds joy in watching them grow and thrive. At Urban Hope, Ginger is driven by the belief that everyone deserves a place to call home. She finds the most rewarding part of her work is knowing that her efforts are helping to create a thriving community where neighbors can support each other and build a better future. When she’s not working, Ginger loves spending time with family, getting lost in a good book, and traveling.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Kali Delay</image:title>
<image:caption>As a Housing Counselor with Urban Hope, Kali (she/her) will work with you one-to-one to navigate your personal, financial, and housing goals. From improving your credit score, understanding your rights as a renter, to starting your journey toward homeownership, Kali will serve as one of many tools at your disposal to move yourself closer towards newfound confidence, stability, and prosperity. With a background in psychology, sociology, and education, Kali’s home is working in human services. Her experience in crisis and intervention services - both clinical and educational - has been invaluable in refining her helping skills, allowing her to listen with intention, speak with understanding, and prioritize individualized care. It’s been Kali’s mission to actualize her personal values of abolition, equity, and restorative justice through her professional work, and sees her time with Urban Hope as an incredible opportunity to enact community-driven, sustainable change. Kali relocated to Richmond City in 2019 to pursue her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University, and - after a brief stint in the 757 - has made her return in 2024 to pursue a Ph.D. in Education. For four years the Richmond community has welcomed Kali with open arms, and she is eager to pay it forward through meaningful service, sustainable investment, and purposeful connection. Although young, she is mindful to move with humility, authenticity, and a readiness to learn from those around her. When not in the office, you can find Kali unwinding with a book alongside her partner Anthony, their old, tender-hearted dog Jax, and rambunctious kitten Penelope.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Having grown up in the Richmond area since 2005, Sarah Shaw (the second Sarah to join our team!) brings a deep love for the city and a strong desire to see its neighborhoods flourish. She holds a B.S. in Organizational Leadership and an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. Her professional background also includes entrepreneurial work supporting nonprofits and businesses across the country through her graphic design business, Inklivity. Earlier in her career, she worked as a mental health professional serving the homeless community in Richmond—an experience that gave her a firsthand view of the wider impacts of displacement and deepened her commitment to stable housing and community restoration. As the Marketing and Events Coordinator at Urban Hope, Sarah helps foster community in the East End of Richmond. Her role is part storyteller, part organizer, and part creative—gathering stories, designing tees, coordinating volunteers, and curating the narrative that connects tenants, donors, and partners to the heart of Urban Hope’s work. She enjoys taking complex ideas and making them clear and compelling. In her free time, Sarah enjoys walks by the river with her boyfriend, Kimble, drawing, reading, and writing. Word on the street is she’s a gingerbread scone connoisseur by fall, strawberry-lemon cake baker by summer.</image:caption>
