Elspeth Collard

Elspeth is deeply passionate about community-based advocacy and excited to be working and living in the East End of Richmond with Urban Hope. Through her study of Environmental Studies and Public Health at the University of Richmond, she first explored community-driven research and action working with local advocates in Amazonia, Kenya, and Lao PDR. Collaborating with these incredible leaders inspired a return to her own community, working at an urban farming non-profit in Baltimore to learn more about (literal) grassroots community organizing.

Now back in Richmond, Elspeth has been able to work with Blue Sky Fund, supporting fundraising, communications, and volunteer management for their outdoor education programming. She is excited to continue to work with Richmond communities at Urban Hope, supporting affordable housing and local partnership networks in the East End. Outside of the office, you will probably find her thrifting, in search of live music, or with her hands in the dirt, trying to plant something.
